Wages / Schooling

To become an electrical engineer you must have a Bachelor's degree which means going to college for 4 years. Typically you need prior experience like internships or being involved in other electrical engineering programs. On average electrical make $97,970 to $102,180 a year. They get paid up to $47.00 hourly. I think the payment and schooling is worth it if you are very passionate in electrical engineering. In my opinion it is worth the effort to become an electrical engineer and make good money while doing so.

What Do They Do / What is Electrical Engineering?

Electrical Engineering is the study of applying electricity.

Electrical Engineers design and develop electrical devices and equipment. They are the people responsible for making the devices we use everyday, our cellphones. They usually work in an office, but if the equipment they design fails they may have to go out and repair it. There are many different categories of Electrical Engineering. There's electronics, digital computers, computer engineering, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, radio-frequency engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, and microelectronics. Electrical Engineers are also responsible for repairing overhead power lines as seen below.
